My Story | Darryl Hunter

I build fragrance like a signature.

What started as memory became study. What became study became creation. What became creation became Dragon Perfumes.

Before Dragon Perfumes, there was memory.

I grew up in the Mississippi Delta. My mother was a beautician, and fragrance lived inside that world. It was part of beauty, presence, and transformation. People came in one way and left feeling seen. That stayed with me.

I am a father. I spend time outdoors. I love gardening, working with the earth, and paying attention to how things grow, change, and return.

I study philosophy and ancient religions. I study perfume deeply. I create because I enjoy understanding how structure, meaning, and sensation come together.

I began wearing fine fragrance at twelve. Over time, the feeling I loved became harder to find. Instead of chasing it, I chose to build it myself.

I make perfume for the space between memory, identity, and atmosphere.

Engineering gave me structure. Perfumery gave me language.

Aerospace engineering trained my mind to understand structure, balance, timing, and movement. I apply that same thinking to fragrance. Every formula has intention in how it unfolds.

Dragon Perfumes.

A small batch house built around memory, presence, and personal scent. Designed to feel close, intentional, and lasting.
